The story behind the name……..

and how they became “CPT”.

It was during the 2007 RUSH “Snakes and Arrows” tour that the boys met up (with their lawn seat tickets in hand) to take in 2 ½ hrs and 25 thousand heart pounding watts of pure classic rock music delivered by one of the all time great rock trio legends. After passing through the gate that day little did they know it would be an unexpected friend(The Guy in picture Far Right) that would hold the “ticket” to what would later become “Crumpled Purple Ticket”. It was there that the boys were handed 1 front row all access ticket to one of the best shows on the planet. But just how would they split this ticket between them? It was easy my dear Watson……the answer was one at a time. They each took their turn with this little purple ticket, staggering and stumbling their way back and forth from their lawn seats to the front row section…… with a shot of Jager here and a shot of Jager there, a glass of shiner here and a glass of shiner there; and acting as inconspicuous as their intoxicated bodies would allow them. We need not elaborate anymore about the damage this unforeseen ticket caused the boys that night. It was as if it had pre-empted intentions of its own that would leave it chuckling at them in the morning. Indeed it was, the next morning on the table in the hotel room, with pieces of Stevie’s pocket lint clinging effortlessly to the “crumpled purple ticket” that would forever hold memories of that night……and kick start the beginning of a unique collaboration of varying musical talents that seemed to somehow be destined to come together.
